The official participation rules:
  1. Eligibility: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Void where restricted or prohibited by law.
  2. Contest Period: The Contest begins on April 2016 and ends in August 2016 with the announcing of the winners.
  3. By submitting a film, contestants agree to transfer ownership of that film to Design Ideas, Ltd. (“Design Ideas”), along with all rights to post, publish, and display their film without royalty or compensation beyond that previously stated in conjunction with Grand Prize selection; expressly waive any privacy rights and moral rights in it; promise that its distribution and display will not violate any right of or require compensation to any person or entity; and represent that they have all rights necessary to authorize its use, distribution and display. Short films that are submitted must be the entrant’s original work and shall not infringe on any copyrights or any other rights of any third parties. Contestants agree that they have obtained all required permissions regarding music, sound and/or images presented in your short film. Design Ideas® is not obligated to post or publish the film or to compensate those contestants who are not selected for prizes in any way, and if Design Ideas® posts a film, it may take it down at any time without notice, in its sole discretion. Design Ideas® reserves the right to cancel or modify the Web site and the Short Film Contest feature at any time, without notice, in its sole discretion. Contestants must acknowledge that similar or identical films may have been submitted by others, may be in development, or may be submitted or developed in future, and they will not be entitled to compensation because of Design Ideas®’ use of such similar or identical material. Contestants must expressly waive any and all claims against Design Ideas® and release Design Ideas® from any and all liability arising from or related to the submission and/or Design Ideas®’ or any third-party’s use of the design. Contestants must agree to indemnify and hold harmless Design Ideas® and its officers and employees from and against any and all liability and costs, including without limitation attorney’s fees, incurred in connection with any claim arising out of a breach by contestants or the representations and warranties contained herein.
  4. Judging and Notification: Judging of finalists will be conducted by the Sponsor and Administrator, whose decisions are final. First, Second and Third Place winners will be selected from these finalists by online voting and notified by email within ten (10) days after the judging is completed. If a potential winner cannot be reached at the email address provided in the contestant’s submission form and/or does not respond to the Sponsor and Administrator by the e-mail address provided by Sponsor and Administrator within five (5) days from Sponsor and Administrator's first attempt to contact him/her or if he/she is found to be ineligible, or if he/she cannot or does not otherwise comply with the Official Rules, then an alternate winner will be selected by the committee. Any prize/prize notification returned as undeliverable may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner.
  5. General Conditions: All contest entrants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of Sponsor and Administrator which are final on all matters pertaining to the Contest. This Contest is governed by the laws of the United States. All Federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. All taxes including, but not limited to, sales or income taxes are the sole responsibility of winner. Prize winner will be required to execute (and have notarized) an Affidavit of Eligibility and a Liability and Publicity Release (the "Affidavit/Release") which must be returned to and received by Sponsor and Administrator within ten (10) days from the winner's receipt of the Affidavit/Release. Any Prize Winner under the age of 18 shall be additionally required to have this Affidavit/Release signed and notarized by a parent or legal guardian. Non-compliance with any of these requirements may result in disqualification, in which case an alternate winner may be chosen. Return of prize, prize notification, or Affidavit/Release as undeliverable will result in disqualification and an alternate winner may be selected. Entry and/or acceptance of prize constitutes permission for the Sponsor and Administrator to use the winner's name, address (city and state) and/or likeness for advertising and trade purposes without further compensation, worldwide and in perpetuity, in any and all forms of media, now known and hereafter devised, including without limitation online, unless prohibited by law. Any person attempting to defraud or in any way tamper with this Contest or who does not comply with these Official Rules will be ineligible for prizes and may be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. If, for reasons beyond the Sponsor and Administrator's control (including, but not limited to, tampering or computer virus infection), the Contest is not capable of running as originally planned, the Sponsor and Administrator, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to cancel or modify the Contest, without liability.
  6. Limitations of Liability: Contest Entities are not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information that may occur in the processing of or submissions in the Contest. Contest Entities assume no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, or theft, destruction or alteration of, or unauthorized access to, entries. Contest Entities shall not be responsible for any problems of technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, e-mail failure, or technical problems on the Internet or on any Web site, including any injury or damage to participant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation in this Contest. Contest Entities shall not be liable for any losses or injuries resulting from acceptance, possession and/or use or misuse of prizes or from participation in the Contest. If for any reason the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including infection, tampering, bugs, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failure or corruption, or any other causes beyond the control of Sponsor and Administrator, Sponsor and Administrator reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest.
  7. Winner List: The name of the prize winner may be obtained on the Designideas.net Web site, or by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to: “Adam Short Film Contest Winner’s List”, P.O. Box 2967, Springfield, Illinois 62708, until May 31, 2017.
